Can’t see what’s going on out there

My stars, I would love a new computer. Newer streaming content and media-rich sites barely function on this nearly 7 year old beast, plus I can’t watch videos hiccup-free if my iPod is plugged in, and iTunes’ performance is a joke. Considering I more or less exclusively use technology for media delivery like everyone else these days, it probably stands to reason that I should save up and get something new. But what? And how long do I have to wait until there is funding? [WS]

step 1: find a friend with rich family
step 2: start tech startup with friend
step 3: startup buys you a powerbook (macbook now)
step 4: torture self with no income for 3 years
step 5: leave starup with 3-yr-old computer
step 6: win!

I’m all about Apple as the medium of the most intuitive and useful computing experience out there these days. However, though MacBooks of varying flavor are sexy as fuck, low cost is not Cupertino’s strong suit. You already have all of the peripherals you need, including a monitor - spend a few hunnert bucks on a refurb Intel Mac Mini and call it a day. Plus, it consumes about the same amount of power as the case fans in that monstrous edifice. Win.

Which is, oddly enough, the conclusion I’d come to. Something’s wrong with WP; I never got a message asking me to moderate your comment.
