Goodbye, small one

On Drawn! today: a great illustrator from The Netherlands by the name of Lotte Klaver. Most excellent are her near-daily entries, which you can find in her “schetsboek.”

As my three-day weekend draws to a close tonight I’m left wondering what the hell I did with the last 72 hours. It certainly wasn’t as productive as I’d hoped, but I had a great time nonetheless. I took a few small steps in fixing financial problems, which feels pretty good. I have a bit left to go, but it’s something I’m confident I’ll work through quickly. Started filing my taxes tonight, joy of joys. At least I’ll be getting my money soon (which will be applied directly to the aforementioned financial problems). I wanted to do some more creative work but I was burnt from the preceding eight days of work and by the time I had recuperated I was already stuck in the sloth pit. So with any luck I’ll be doing things this week after the grind.

Kathy and I took a short walk this evening post-laundry-excursion to set free the rodent prisoner we’ve been storing in a pretzel jar for the last several days. His name is Squidget (why?) and he was very sweet, and very small, but living in squalor and probably fairly unhappy. When Kath learned of this tyranny she immediately made to release him from his bonds. Hopefully he will make a home out by the Poestenkill where we put him. He didn’t seem to want to leave his cardboard tube, so he was forcibly prodded out with a stick, but then he quickly scampered off into the darkness. Kathy proceeded to feel good about this. I am still somewhat ambivalent. He was a mouse, after all.

Look for new site hotness soon. (How long will I be saying things like this before they get done? Now it has to be extra great.) [WS]

Probably going to have some gas

We have these new hot dogs in the house. They’re awful, extremely greasy and salty. Our excellent onion sauce is not enough to mask their horrid nature. This hell-born dog and the bowl of chili I ate earlier this evening are in concert bound to generate some sort of GI discomfort.

I am currently planning a blog relocation. I will be leaving the fair land of LiveJournal soon to make a new home at my real website with WordPress. It seems vogue enough. I’d just really like to integrate my blog and portfolio and have everything look the way I want. Stay tuned. [WS]

Fresh

Reversing last night’s post: I actually got a chance to party with some kids tonight. Played a couple games of beer pong (lost both), sat up and talked, chilled, learned the blues scale on the bass, all nice. Work was good tonight, very tiring, but I made loot, so it’s even, plus I got a ride home.

Perry and I played some DDR today at the Union and he brought his camera at my request, so we got some video and a few pictures. I have never before today seen myself playing in the almost two years that I’ve been doing so. Unfortunately, I don’t have the video yet, but I did get the pics, so here are a few choice ones for you. They are all from an Oni course (Road of TaQ, for the curious) that we split.

Holy cow, I’m totally going so fast AH FUCK!

That metal square is not a button, Will.

A particularly good pic I shot of Perry playing.

You can see all the (good) shots from today here. When I have the videos, which are of us playing Double, I’ll post them.

Additionally, tomorrow is my quarter-birthday. Where did the last three months go at? [WS]

Party poopers

I thought that, as usual, the roommates might have started partying too early for me to actually join in (oh, there it is now, the sound of vomiting from the bathroom adjoining my bedroom). I was right. Stupidly, I didn’t let the notion ruin my intentions of having a fine party. The absinthe I bought for them was consumed without me, so I’m feeling a little miffed.

I realised that I hadn’t posted in a few days. Oh well. [WS]
