Can’t see what’s going on out there

My stars, I would love a new computer. Newer streaming content and media-rich sites barely function on this nearly 7 year old beast, plus I can’t watch videos hiccup-free if my iPod is plugged in, and iTunes’ performance is a joke. Considering I more or less exclusively use technology for media delivery like everyone else these days, it probably stands to reason that I should save up and get something new. But what? And how long do I have to wait until there is funding? [WS]

The one thing I hate about weekends

Blog traffic, messaging, email, MySpace comments: everything stops on Friday afternoon. What exactly is everyone so busy doing that they don’t have time to drop updates on Saturday or Sunday? [WS]

All that said, here’s something nice

MIT’s got some students blogging for their admissions office, trying to rope people into their posh little academic circus. I wouldn’t care about something like this normally, but Lulu Liu, a sophomore from New Haven with an awesome name, also takes pictures. More interesting than her posts (to be fair, she’s only written twice) is what is available in her public directory. I’m not going to link you, but the photos in the blog entries are stored there. I’m also not going to offer critique of the cache except to say that shit like this is why I’m so very fond of the internet. [WS]
